Web 2.0 and social networks
• The use of social networks on the Internet has become
an innovative tool in Communication fields.
• Millions of individual users, institutions and companies
have accepted the challenge of facing this new logic of
interaction
• Current studies show that 62% of local users have
signed up in Facebook, Twitter or both, reaching
Argentina the fifth position in the world in the use of
social networks.
• Facebook is currently the most popular web site in
Argentina.

at INCUCAI
• The implementation of Facebook at INCUCAI has
provided a new tool of interaction with several actors
related or not to organ donation and transplantation.
• In spite of the short time since it was launched we can
sense its potential.

During the first 40 days (5/27 - 7/6)
• 98.197 entries were registered
• 1090 users followed the web page (7/6)
• 31 articles were published, 13 were institutional and
18 of general interest .

• There were 568 “Like” qualifications of the articles (an
average of 18.3 per article).
• Institutional articles had an average of 11.8 “Like”
qualifications and 2.1 comments.
• General interest articles had an average of 23.1 “Like”
qualifications and 4.3 comments.

There were also 29 institutional answers to questions and comments.
34% of the comments were from people closely related to organ donation and
transplantation.

Conclusion
• The balance after the first month of use of this tool of the
web 2.0 is highly positive.
• Social networks allow connecting and sharing directly
and instantly with the community, showing transparency
in the whole process of donation and transplantation.
