Unusual story or event: In elementary
school, Carson was known as the class
dummy. He thought that was the way it
would always be. His mother couldn’t
read, but decided that she wanted her
boys to do well at school. So she
assigned her own homework and got the
boys to make two book reports every
weekend. After awhile, Carson did
better at school. He started reading fun
science books in the library and could
soon identify rocks alongside the
railroad track. Soon he became the
smartest in the class…later the smartest
at the grade level…later the smartest in
the school.
