How the systems of the human
body interact.
OR…
Mrs. Woyce’s Excellent
Adventure
Teaching the standards like
nobody else!!
It all started…
Typically…
However…
The fizz caused
my esophagus to
dilate abnormally.
• Digestive System
This triggered the Vagus nerve
which controls a lot of your
body’s organs including the
esophagus and some heart
functions.
• Digestive System
• Nervous System
• Activation of the vagus nerve
leads to lower heart rate, blood
pressure, or both.
• Can also cause vasovagal
syncope because of a sudden
drop in blood pressure and heart
rate.
• Digestive System
• Nervous System
• Circulatory System
Blah, blah, blah…
It made me faint.
I hit my head really hard on the
floor.
• This is why I don’t like you to lean back in
your chairs. Trust me! This floor is HARD!!
I couldn’t wake up for a while…
And yes, I do look
this glamorous
when I am
unconscious!
9-1-1!!!
They took me by ambulance to the
hospital.
At the hospital they did a CT scan
Also known as a Cat Scan
•My cat is OK!
What they found in me was
shocking!
Despite popular belief…
I do have a brain after all!
Once I get a copy of my CT scan,
I’ll prove it!
• The nasty hit to my head gave me
a slight concussion, but it was
enough to let me take the day off!
I’m ok now!
• Now…let’s learn how to pee!
