GRADING RUBRIC
QUALITY OF INFORMATION
4---high interest, fresh, significant, substantial
3---mostly new and significant; good depth in general
2---some significant and new information; some may be commonplace
1---cliche, trite, limited depth
ORGANIZATION
4---creative and interesting beginning, logically organized body, clear
conclusion
3---attention getter, easily followed body, distinct ending
2---weak beginning or ending; body at times may be hard to follow or may wander
1---weak beginning and ending; difficult to follow
DELIVERY (eye contact)
4---audience-wide and sustained
3---may miss parts of audience, but strong throughout
2---reliance on notes interrupts contact; speaker sometimes avoids audience
1---avoids eye contact for the most part; fleetingly looks up
(desire to be understood)
4---assertive and energetic
3---confident; good presence
2---poised, but may lack some enthusiasm or confidence
1---little enthusiasm and confidence; may seem unconcerned with communicating
