When we add ‘ed’ to words
ending in two consonants,
we generally just add the
letters

When we add ‘ed’ to words
with a short vowel ending
with one consonant, we
usually have to double
the last letter.

With words ending in ‘e’, we
simply take away the ‘e’ and
