Diseases on Skeletal
» Osteoporosis is a disease of a loss of bone tissue. In
osteoporosis, the bone loses calcium, becomes
thinner, and may disappear altogether.
Protection & Storage
Protection- the heart is protection by the
ribs. So is the lungs.
Storage- the bones store minerals that help
the muscles & nerves function properly.
Movement
• Movement- skeletal muscles that pull the
bones to produce movement. You wood' it
be able to sit, stand, run, or walk with out
bones.
Blood cell Formation
• Blood cell formation- some of the bones
are filled with a special material to make
blood cells.
Def. for Skeletal

primary function is to support & protect the
body.
The Muscular System
• There are different muscle like smooth,
cardiac, & skeletal.
Smooth Muscle
• Smooth is found in the blood vessels also
the digestive tract
• Smooth- the type of muscle found in the
blood vessels & the digestive tract.
Cardiac Muscle
• Is a special type of muscle found at the
heart & only at the heart.
• Cardiac- the type of muscle found in the
heart.
Skeletal Muscle
• Are attached to the bones for movement.
• Skeletal- the type of muscle that moves
bones and helps protect inner organs.
Diseases on Muscular
• genetic where get weak and waste away
of muscle tissue, with or without hurting
the nerve tissue. There are nine types of
the disease & all cause eventual loss of
strength, increasing disability, and possible
deformity.
