“KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTIANS!
So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ali Van
Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your
mountain is waiting. So…get on your way!”
-Dr. Seuss
As the children move through their year of 2nd grade, keep in
mind…
In
reading, they are moving beyond phonetic decoding toward reading
more fluently and focusing on comprehension.
In
math, they are moving beyond the acquisition of math skills (basic
facts, coin names and value, etc.) toward use of these tools in problem
solving.
In
writing, they are moving beyond a list of general ideas toward a
more developed piece that has a clearer beginning, middle, and ending.

Panther Pride is our
school’s approach to creating
a positive social climate. Our
primary goal is to build a
welcoming school community
where students will enjoy
learning, develop friendships,
and become responsible
citizens of our world.

When you know your family is going on a
vacation and your child will miss some
school time, please submit a
TRAVEL PLANS form to the office.
Due to the more than
800 students enrolled at
Plymouth Creek this
year, we are asking that
parents make a change
when picking up their
students from school.
Please wait outside of
the building instead of
the front lobby for your
child. We appreciate
your cooperation.
This year, students will not be allowed to ride a different bus home
for a play date due to overcrowding. The only acceptable reason for a
different bus will be childcare.
