Important Reminders:
•Your child’s take-home folder is now in his or her
new Leadership Notebook! It needs to stay in there
and the Leadership Notebook will now be coming
home and back to school each day.
•Please remember to sign or initial your child’s
agenda sheet each night.
•Please empty the LEFT side of your child’s takehome folder (labeled “To Be LEFT at HOME”) each
night.
•Please note that all homework and due dates are
listed on your child’s agenda sheet each week.
•PLEASE, make sure to do one of the 3 homework
options listed on your child’s spelling list each week.
These change each week, so just simply writing
ABC order on a piece of notebook paper is not
always an option. It is fine to do that as a study
aide, but it will not be accepted as homework unless
it is listed as that week’s homework options.
•Spelling homework options (There are 3 different
choices each week – and they do change.) are
listed on the bottom of your child’s spelling list. The
spelling list is sent home the Friday before it is due
the following week. Kids are REQUIRED to do ONE
but certainly MAY do more for extra points toward
homework goals.
•If you lose your spelling list, you can find an extra
copy on our website. Or… write a note on your
child’s agenda and I will be happy to send home a
new one. 
•If you send lunch money to school, please make
sure that it is in an envelope with your child’s first
and last name on it.

Aug. 28th – Back to School Breakfast
Sept. 1st – NO SCHOOL! (Labor Day)
Sept. 3rd – Fundraiser Money & Order Forms Due!
Sept. 15th – NO SCHOOL! (Teacher Work Day)
Sept. 23rd – Picture Day

Please continue to ask your friends, family,
and neighbors to help support our
school. Please be sure you practice safe
selling with your child. Our PTO is ALWAYS so
wonderful about using these funds raised in
our fundraisers to best benefit the students of
our school! We appreciate your continued
support!
Back to School Breakfast
PTO is having a Back to School
Breakfast for parents on Thursday,
August 28th from 7:45 until 8:30 in the
library. The breakfast is open to
everyone! If you are new to Briarwood,
we highly encourage you to come!
Show Off Your Pup!
We will be reading a story titled,
Dogs, next week. If you have a
dog or dogs, we would love to
display pictures of our family dogs
in our classrooms. Please send in
pictures of your pups!
