Class Meetings
•Class Meetings occur on a
weekly basis and as needed
throughout the school year.
Class Meetings allow for both
students and the teacher to
reflect upon the school week
and/or events outside of the
school day.
Community Time
•Following Friday Class
Meetings, students have the
opportunity to participate in
Community Time. Students are
encouraged to engage in
activities with their peers, rather
than play independently.

Otter Creek Mastering Math Facts
•One Minute Timings…on Tuesdays and
Thursdays
•Weekly practice sent home on most Mondays and
Wednesdays…Your child should complete all of
the problems for homework and show you the
paper before returning it to school.
•Addition and Subtraction will be our focus for 2nd
grade.
•Weekly Spelling Tests
•Pretest AND Posttest on THURSDAYS
•The Pretest will come home in your child’s Friday Folder. You
will notice either a T or a B at the top of your child’s paper. The
T indicates your child needs to study the TOP section of the
spelling list, plus the Commonly Misspelled Words and
Challenge Words. The B indicates your child needs to study the
BOTTOM section of the spelling list, plus the Commonly
Misspelled Words and Challenge Words.
