Word Study
• Words of the week
- 2 words per week
- learn part of speech, suffixes,
prefixes, root words, syllabication,
& spelling of words
- test on 10 words after 5 weeks
- list kept on side board
• Spelling Unforgivables
Reading Workshop
• Self selected book (fiction)
• Complete at least one novel per marking
period
• Read in class during Reading Workshop (2
days)
• Reading journal (worth 50 points - will be due
every 2 weeks)
• Read when your work is finished
• You must bring self selected books to class
everyday (spot book checks!)

Put card with your name and date in small
grey box
• Show me that you are returning the book
• Return book to shelf according to title of
book ( Ex. – Red Kayak – “R”)
