Transcript Common Core Standards
•Accelerated curriculum
•Learning is an interrelationship of all
curriculum
•Develop inquiry skills
•Creative thinking and problem solving
•Communicate ideas
We don’t keep reinventing the
wheel because we need new
wheels. We keep reinventing it
because we need new inventors.
• Standards are fewer, much deeper
• Even greater focus on problem solving
• Each grade level has only the domains
(major topics) relevant to their focus
During math, we will be learning new skills and strategies
by engaging in problem solving tasks that are hands-on and
build a strong foundation. The tasks will require in depth
thinking, correct use of vocabulary and the ability to
explain their thinking in multiple ways.
