Walk it out like an Usher!
– April 13 and 14 at Valdosta State University!!
– The First time hosted here at the campus!
What is Relay for life?
Relay For Life is a overnight event, it’s a
celebration for cancer survivors and their
family/friends.
Businesses and organizations raise money for
research and programs buy setting up stands.
Donations are made to the American Cancer
Society.
The events are held at schools, fairgrounds, or
parks.
Teams of people gather and take turns walking or
running laps.
Wow!! I wonder who’s cleaning
this up.
So Tired!!
Walking Is such hard work.
And you get so Thirsty!!!
The First lap for the survivors and
family/friends!!!!!!!
History of Relay for
life.
One Person Can Make
a Difference.
Began in Tacoma,
Washington, as the
City of Destiny
Classic 24-Hour Run
Against Cancer.
In the mid-1980s, Dr.
Gordy Klatt, decided
to personally raise
money for the fight
for the ACS.
By running
marathons, what he
enjoyed most.
Why is community service
important!
Awareness
Fellowship
Community
Appreciation
Life to others
How I am related to Cancer!
Work for a Gastroenterologist.
Cousins Godmother.
Aunt was a cancer nurse.
Know survivors and Patients.
What I know
•Colon Cancer!!
•Colon Polyps!!
•Stomach
Cancer!!
•Etc.
•Checks at 50
yrs.
•Very silently
and deadly.
Rocking for a Cure!!
What It do??
I got wet at one!
And was hot and tired at another.
Sounds fun Right……..lol.
Remember!!!
This is how they
remembered those
who past away due to
cancer.
They were set around
the track and at night
kept the blind from
going astray…..
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
The women in this town get worse
by the day!!!!
The freeks come out at night!!!!
Having so much fun!!!!!

Community service is cool only when you do it because you
want to. Otherwise you will just be posted up or want to
walk away.
