• The Male Reproductive System
The Human Reproductive System
• Reproduction – The process by which
living organisms produce new individuals
of their kind
• Reproductive systems – consists of body
organs and structures that make possible
the production of offspring
Parts of the Male Reproductive
System
• During Puberty the testes begin to
produce sperm
• Usually between 12-15 year old

• Testes – produce sperm
• Sperm travel through URETHRA
• Along the way sperm mixes with fluid
called SEMEN
• Semen is released from the URETHRA
through the PENIS
• This is called EJACULATON

Caring for the Male Reproductive
System
• Take shower or bath daily
• Always wear protective gear when
participating in contact sports
• Examine for lumps, swelling soreness, or
other problems
• Have regular checkups
Problems of the Male Reproductive
System
• Hernia – An inguinal hernia occurs when
part of the intestine pushes into the groin.
This occurs because of weakness in the
muscle wall
• Sterility – Being unable to produce enough
healthy sperm to reproduce
Problems of the Male Reproductive
System
• Testicular Cancer – Cancer of the testes is
rare, but it is the most common in males
between the ages of 15 and 34.
• Symptoms- Lump or swelling in scrotum,
pain or tenderness in one of the testicles,
or heavy feeling inn a testicle
• Surgery is necessary to stop spread of
cancer
