Woodland Forests
 A woodland
forest gets enough rain and
sunlight for trees to grow well.
 Temperature changes with the seasons.
 Animals can survive the seasons by
adapting.




Some leaves change color. Some
leaves stay green.

others do not.
The chipmunk lives
in the woodland
forest. They use
their large cheeks to
help them store food.
Deer have colors and spots to help them hide as
the seasons change.
Owls hunt at night and use
their large eyes to spot
prey.

These animals also live in a woodland forest.
Bears hibernate during the winter and change what
they eat during seasons.
Rain Forests
 A tropical
rain forest is a habitat where it
rains almost every day.
 The temperature is hot and humid.
 Plants and animals can live in trees to
reach more sunlight.
 Plants and animals can live on the ground
where it is cooler.
Rain
forests get
a lot of rain
all year
round.
Trees and plants grow large in rain forests.
Jaguars hunt for prey
on the forest floor.
Parrots and other animals
stay safe in trees from the
predators on the ground.
Plants have large
leaves and have
colorful flowers.
