Introduction
• Donald Trump, do not kick
us of the apprentice. The
Digestive system is really
important. If we didn’t have
the digestive system we
wouldn’t be able to eat food.
Which means you wouldn’t
be able to sponsor Oreo
cakesters with Eli and
Peyton Manning.
Major Parts Of The Digestive System
• The major organs of the digestive system are:
• the teeth,gums,estophagous,stomach,small
intestine, pancreas, liver, large intestine
gallbladder, and salivary glands

Mouth- is the beginning of the digestive tract.
Epiglottis- keeps the food from going in to your lungs.
Pharynx- is part of the digestive and respiratory system.
Esophagus- brings down the food to the stomach
Liver- the body’s largest internal organ.
Gallbladder- releases bile to duodenum to help digest fat in food we
eat.
Stomach- holds up highly acidic environment that is needed to break
food down.
Pancreas- makes hormones to control blood glucose level.
Small Intestine- is called small cause of it’s width. Has 3 parts. They
are duodenum, jejunum, Ileum.
Large Intestine- made up of the colon, cecum, and rectum.
Appendix- is attached to the cecum.
Anus- marks the exit point of the digestive tracts where the fences
leave the body.
Diseases associated with the
Digestive system
• Diseases of the Digestion system are
Colorectal cancer and Crohn’s
disease.
• The colorectal cancer is a malignant
cell that can be found in the colon or
rectum part of the body. The large
intestines are made up of those
parts.
• Along with other painful diseases,
Crohn’s disease can lead to
complications, including an
obstruction of the intestine due to
swelling and the formation of scar
tissue.
Why the digestive system is
important
• The Digestive system is
important because it breaks
down food into smaller
pieces, so they can be used
as an energy source for the
body.
• Without it we wouldn’t be
able to eat food and get our
energy source. This means
we would all die in a matter
of days.
