What Is Crohns Disease?
Crohns Disease is
primarily involving the
small and large
intestine, but can
affect other parts of
the digestive system
as well. Crohns
Disease is mostly in
the digestive system
but can occur
anywhere from the
mouth to the rectum
(anus).
Medical History

Cigarettes or drugs
-Sexually active

-Started menstrual cycle at 13
Symptoms
-Diarrhea
-Pain in the abdomen

movement
-headaches
-blood in stool
-cramps in abdomen
-soreness in abdomen or side
All these symptoms are caused by
swelling in the large intestine and the
ulcer.
Treatments
Treatment may include drugs,
surgery, or a combination of these
options. The goals of treatment
are to control inflammation, and
relieve symptoms like abdominal
pain, diarrhea, and rectal
bleeding. At this time, treatment
can help control the disease by
lowering the number of times a
person experiences a recurrence,
but there is no cure. Treatment for
Crohn’s disease depends on the
location of disease, complications,
and the person’s response to
previous medical treatments when
treated for recurring symptoms.
Body System Affected
Crohn’s disease is primarly affected with the
digestive system and some what of the
circulatory system with the blood loss. Also
your immune system is affected by this
disease.
Final Diagnosis
We have came to a conclusion that Carla Pennypacker has
a disease called Crohn’s disease. We know this because
she has all the symptoms of Crohns disease, such as
blood in her bowel movements, diarrhea, pain in her
abdomen, headaches, and substantial change in weight.
We had a C.A.T. scan done that shows inflammation and
ulcer in colon and inflammation in the dital ileum. That
means that in her intestines are much larger than normal
and her ulcers and much larger too. We think what
caused it was the over all stress from being a circus
performer.
