1. Bandwagon
• You should do something because everyone else
is doing it
• Ex. Everyone is rushing to their local Ford
dealership, you should too.

2. Loaded/Emotional Words
• Using strong positive or negative words that
leave us with that feeling about the product
• Ex. No really intelligent voter would vote for
candidate number one.

3. Testimonial
• Someone else tells you it was good for them
or they approve of it.
• Ex. Tiger woods only wears nike!
4. Name calling
• Talking about a competitor negatively.
• Ex. That other brand…
• Do we want a mayor who will leave us in debt?

5. Plain Folks
• Shows people just like you.
• Wal-mart commercials use real employees
• We want a Jim Smith, a mayor who supports the regular
American worker.

• People should act or think in a certain way to
achieve high social status

Making your propaganda Wheel
1. Get 1 paper plate
2. Write your name and class period on the
back of the plate.
3. Divide the plate into 6 sections using your
pencil (like a pizza)
4. Take notes in these sections
Finish your wheel!!
• Take another paper plate
• Cut out 1/6th of the plate (one slice of pizza)
• Place one metal paper fastener through the
center of both plates.
• Your plate should spin so that you can see your
notes
• Decorate the front
of your plate to make
it unique.
