Guidelines for Changing and Dropping
Classes
*Classes are created and teachers are hired based on the course selections students make.
*This means we cannot honor requests for schedule changes once students make their
decisions.
Changes will only be considered for the following reasons:

Students enrolled in a course, yet not meeting course prerequisite

Students who must make a schedule change due to change in their IEP

Seniors who need graduation requirements not already in their schedule

A level change can be considered (but not guaranteed) for a student who is enrolled in a
class that is too easy or difficult; however, students are expected to make all attempts to
improve their grade before change is considered
Consequences of Failing a Class

Failed classes will NOT be put in for course requests so plan to take credit
recovery courses outside of Auburn

Students failing a required class will be required to pay to retake the class(es)
at Roosevelt Night School, Summer School or through an approved online
recovery program

Elective classes are important. Failing elective classes may interfere with
earning the 48 credits required to graduate on time
Running Start

To be eligible a student must currently be a sophomore
with a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Students must have also completed (by the end of
sophomore year) Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry and 2
years of English with a grade of B or higher
College Athletic Eligibility
