invaded Poland.

II. Nazi Offensives (Blitzkrieg)
• by 1940, Nazi Germany overran Poland,
Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and
Belgium
• Allies (French & British) cannot compete
with Nazi Blitz
• Allies trapped at Dunkirk, France along
the English Channel
• Hitler’s mistake was to not attack -Instead he attacked/captured Paris
• 300,000 Allied soldiers escaped to England
