GROUP NAME : PENYU NELANG
GENERATIONS OF iPODs
IPOD NANO
th
(7
Generation)
• Described as the "thinnest iPod Nano yet", 38% thinner (5.4 mm)
than the Nano it replaces (8.78 mm), and adds the ability to use
Bluetooth 4.0 wireless headsets, and devices (such as heart-rate
monitors).
• Genius Mixes and rediscover songs you haven’t heard in awhile — or
find music you forgot you had.
• Give iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your
music library.
• If your car’s sound system is Bluetooth enabled, when you sit down
in the driver’s seat, your iPod nano is ready to pick up where you left
off. Without missing a beat.
WHY IT IS GOOD? (USABILITY)
• Simple Controls for Complex Functions (Learnability)
• Children of 5-year old and 8-year can have this device. The basic
playback controls on iPods appear to be limited at first glance:
Play/Pause, Back and Forward.
• Everyone can use it in easy way such as listening music or watching
video.
• Mistake when touching on screen (errors)
• It occur when user touch it using a wet finger or inadvertently touch
the screen.
• iPod nano in 6th and 7th generation comes with fully touch screen and
only have a home button. So it is easier for user to make a mistake by
touching the screen inadvertently that make it open the application
such as music player.
• iPod Nano design an easy back button by touch the home button or
slide the screen to the right for back.
• User easily can recover the error.
• A simple home screen menu (memorability)
• When users return to the design after a period of not using it, they
are not worried to remember how to use it with a simple display icon.
• User also can customize their own main menu by adding or removing
some item in the main menu
• Comes with multiple function (satisfaction)
• iPod Nano not just used for hearing the music but it also can use for
alternative way
• Can watch a video and see the photos in the gallery.
• Nike fitness apps to track user daily workout (easily track your steps,
distance, pace, time, and calories burned)
• FM radio and wireless bluetooth.
• Design in multifunction, so the user not just buy the ipod for a music
WHY IT HAS POOR USABILITY ?
• Lack of effectiveness
• Apple missed the mark on this, "Nano" suggests small. Compared to
the previous generation of the Nano, this one just get bigger.
• If small is what needed, how can you clipped this device to your
clothes while running, unlike the 6th generation of Nano, you can clip
them easily and can be used as watch too.
• Lack Of Utility
• Until now, there is no integrated headphone remote, and it still lacks
the camcorder, microphone, speaker, games, calendar, contacts,
notes, and alarm clock.
• Fixed storage capacity ( Lack of satisfaction )
• The (maximum) internal storage capacity has not been increased
compared with the previous model but only a single, 16GB version of
the seventh generation. Thus making it harder for user to store large
number of files into it.
