CARDIORESPIRATORY
ENDURANCE
The ability of the circulatory systems
to supply oxygen during sustained
physical activity
BENEFITS: burns calories, increases
HDL (good cholesterol), improves the
immune system, and improves
psychological well-being

TESTS: PACER TEST
MUSCULAR STRENGTH

The maximum amount of force a
muscle can produce in a single effort

BENEFITS: Helps a person perform
everyday tasks, maintains correct
posture, reduces the risks of injuries,
improves body composition, and keeps
bones strong and dense
Muscular Endurance
 The
ability of the muscle to
continue to perform with out
fatigue.
 BENEFITS: same as Muscular
Strength
 TESTS: CURL UP/PUSH- UP
FLEXIBILITY
The ability to bend and move the joints
through the full range of motion.
 BENEFITS: improves range of
motion, decreases the likelihood of
having accidents
 TESTS: SIT AND REACH,
SHOULDER STRETCH AND
TRUNK LIFT

BODY COMPOSTITION
The ratio of lean tissue to fat tissue in
the body
 BENEFITS of a HEALTHY BODY
COMPOSTION: improves self image
and reduces the risk of: obesity,
coronary heart disease, diabetes, high
blood pressure, stroke
 TESTS: Skin-fold measurements,
