If you disagree with the teacher, wait until AFTER
class to discuss it.
NEVER
ARGUE WITH THE
TEACHER IN CLASS.
Do NOT enter until teacher opens the door, even
if door is unlocked or a student exits.
Go DIRECTLY to your assigned seat.
Take out class materials—pen/pencil, notebook,
homework.
Place bag/backpack off the table.
When Bellwork Appears…you must be seated,
working, and quiet
Always sit in ASSIGNED sit
Sit close to table to allow a path for walking
Turn and face instruction
Collect your journal prior to bell.
When bell rings, bellwork will appear on
screen.
COPY every question into your Bellwork
Journal, then record the answer.
Don’t know the answer? Copy the question
and wait for the review.
When music plays, finish the question you
are on, put pencil down, sit quietly and wait
for review.
Return your journal to class box after
bellwork.
To prepare for tests we will study flashcards
(vocabulary words) and review Notes weekly.
You must review your flashcards during the
designated time. No socializing.
Use notecards or cut/tear paper.
You must have your flashcards with you
everyday.
Save all flashcards until end of year.
You will need a place to store your cards—
envelope, baggie, ring, notecard holder, etc.
Science Starters are a group activity
that we do 2-3 times a week.
Work with your group/partner.
All students must participate.
This is NOT socializing time.
Classes with the most Science Starter points
earn a music note.
Fill up all your music notes and the class
earns 30 minutes of independent work time
(no lecture!) with your music!
When you hear the bell ding, teacher say
“Quiet in 5-4-3-2-1”, or hear “Clap once,
Clap Twice:
STOP what you are doing immediately
Put pencils down
Quietly let your neighbors know that they
must stop work
Wait for me to speak.
Come to class prepared! Have your
pen/pencil, paper, etc. ready to go
BEFORE the bell rings.
Have extra pencils in case one breaks!
If your extra pencils break or you do
not have paper you may raise your
hand and ask permission to sharpen
your pencil or get paper. Choose
appropriate times!
Do not sit and do nothing because you
don’t have supplies…get some!
Notes will be taken daily and will be kept in
your Biology Notebook (spiral bound, large
size)
All handouts will be taped/glued/stapled into
your notebook.
Notebooks will be peer graded on test days
and teacher graded at the end of the
semester.
Certain assignments may be collected
individually.
All homework should be turned into the In
Box.
Immediately stop talking and stop
what you are doing.
Absolutely, NO TALKING during
announcements, sit and listen.
Do NOT touch the gas or water valves at the
lab tables unless instructed to do so!
Gas can be dangerous!
Water will spray all over!
Sinks have trash bins in them
At the end of each class period, dump the
trash
During labs, remove trash bins
Anyone caught throwing things in class will
be picking up the floor.
Students at regular desks:
choose an appropriate time to
throw trash away. Do not
interrupt lecture…wait.
Teacher will often call on random students
for answers.
If you know the answer, give the answer.
If you are unsure of the Answer, say “Echo”
Students will continued to be called on until
the correct answer is given. At that time
anyone who said Echo will echo the correct
answer.

Push your seat under the table.
Class Time will NOT be interrupted to
have a discussion about whether or
not you deserve a detention, want to
change your seat, want to check your
