The Royal Wedding
On 29th April 2011, HRH Prince William will marry his fiancée
Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey. The Archbishop of
Canterbury will marry the royal couple.
Over 1,900 guests have been invited,
including leading figures from royalty,
charities, politics, the armed forces,
Commonwealth countries, sport,
journalism, music and faith groups.
More than half of the guests will be
family and friends. Many members of
the British public are following
preparatory details with interest.
The costs are estimated to be over £10 million.

Reactions to the wedding
The reactions of the British public to the upcoming wedding
have been varied. There are ongoing debates about the
possible positive and negative effects of the event.
For example, those who are pro argue that a great
number of tourists will visit the UK for the wedding, which
will raise a high revenue for the national economy.
Those who are anti could argue
that the strong police presence
necessary for the event will cost
the taxpayer money.
What do you think? Can you think of any
more positive or negative arguments?
