 The University of the Built Environment
 HCU was founded in 2006 by the Free
and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as a
"University of a new type"
 It was an explicit target to reach
interdisciplinary innovation in teaching,
research and development of all
building and planning related
disciplines, living up to their common
routes

environment and metropolitan

consists of
two 2 x 2
meter tables
and is able to
apply real
time changes
HCU‘s interdisciplinary
approach
 HCU‘s latest research unit to accept the
challenge of urbanization in the digital
age
 FindingPlaces.hamburg - Urban model to
identify areas for refugee
accommodation in Hamburg
 the purpose of the project is to help
finding suitable areas for another 20,000
accommodation
 the users receive real-time feedback
through visualizations from the
CityScope, displaying the impacts and
performance of their plans
interconnected in many possible
manners.

 To exchange experience and know how in the field of

innovative ways to cope with that
 To get to know the Aalto University, its administration,
structure and services
 To establish new and strengthen existing contacts
 To discuss some future cooperation activities
