High risk HPV infection accounts for approximately 5% of cancers worldwide. There are over 100 types of HPV. 15 of which are believed to cause cancer. HPV infection can be Low-Risk OR High-Risk What is persistent HPV infection? Creative Process Process Info Satisfy Curiosity There are three main areas in the US where women are heavily effected by cervical cancer: The US/Mexico Border The Appalachia The Delta Delta Region US/ Mexico Border Relatively low cervical cancer screening rates (especially among older Hispanic women) Relatively high death rates from cervical cancer Why is the incidence of cervical cancer higher at the US/Mexico Border?
