Choose Web design software: Front Page, Dreamweaver,
Yahoo Sitebuilder
Play with the software- see what templates, clipart the
software offers
Learn how the software works so when you get started you
aren’t learning as you go
Decide whether to use templates and what the look of the
site will be
Decide on topics for site (Navigation Bar items)
Start adding text and pictures to site
Preplanning is the key to a good looking and highly usable
site!

Look at other sites on the Web:
– See what you like/don’t like
– Get ideas for layout/format




Scout out sites you would like to add as links to
your site (be sure to annotate links)
Ask someone else to preview your site and give
you feedback
Start small—you can always add more
