Web Access Resource Manifest
Problem
• Suppose that a document data object
stored within a Repository Domain
references 3 image data objects using
URLs
• When the document and images are
exported to a different Repository
Domain the URLs do not work
Proposed solution
• The document file is exported together
with the 3 image files and a document
containing a list of all the URLs and
their corresponding image file identities
(the manifest)
Recipient domain
• The application which receives the
document and images can use a
number of different strategies for
enabling the links to work properly using
the information in the manifest which
maps the original URLs to the image
files
• Since the original document is
unchanged, the checksum and digital
signature, if present, is still valid
Existing similar solutions
• A search will be made for existing
similar solutions e.g.
– W3C
– National Library of Medicine
– Others?
Draft scope
• The means to enable web access
specified within a document to a data
object stored within the same repository
domain in the case that the data objects
have been imported from a different
data object repository domain.
