With a huge number of websites spreading over Internet, users face the great challenge of data
mining (i.e., information searching, filtering and monitoring) on tremendous information over
Internet. In fact, data/web mining has become very hot topic in both industry and academic world.
This project plans to design and engineer a society of software agents for: (1) locating desirable
number of URLs, (2) retrieving the necessary information included in these URLs (3) classification
and evaluating on these retrieved information. (4) monitoring and changes in websites and perform
some synchronization. Through the use of an ontology (inter-relationships of words), (i) a query
processing agent will be engineered to assist users in selecting desired number of URLs and (ii)
information filtering agents will be developed to retrieve relevant information using ontological
relations of words. Additionally, information monitoring agents will be engineered to constantly
monitor contents of websites and report changes to users. (iii) Dispatch agent will dispatch
necessary information to customers by email or other approaches.
