Introduction
Cancer is characterized by the uncontrolled growth
and spread of abnormal cells that is caused by
external factors, like tobacco, infectious organisms,
unhealthy diet & internal factors like inherited
genetic mutations, hormones and immune
conditions.
Types of Cancer
CARCINOMAS- Cells that cover internal and external
parts of the body such as lung, breast and colon
cancer
SARCOMA- Bone, cartilage, fat, connective tissue and
muscle
LYMPHOMAS- Lymph nodes and immune system
tissues
LEUKEMIAS- Bone marrow and often accumulate in
the bloodstream
ADENOMAS- Thyroid, pituitary gland, adrenal gland
and other glandular tissues

fish, eggs

Diet high in carotenoids
Diet high in fish
High physical activity
Green tea, Turmeric, Tomato,
Basil
Turmeric
Curcumin has been studied in multiple human
carcinomas including melanoma, head and neck,
breast, colon, pancreatic, prostate and ovarian
cancers.
Epidemiological studies attribute the low incidence of
colon cancer in India to the chemopreventive and
antioxidant properties of diets rich in curcumin
Neem
It has Gallic acid, epicatechin and catechin.
Recent studies indicated that an ethanolic extract of
neem has been shown to cause cell death of prostate
cancer.
Different studies indicate its use against buccal
carcinogenesis, skin carcinogenesis, gastric
carcinogenesis & melanoma.
Wheatgrass
Wheatgrass extract contains
chlorophyll, an antioxidant, may affect
cancer prevention.
Additionally, selenium and lactrile
present in wheatgrass have anti-cancer
properties. Selenium builds a strong
immune system, and can decrease the
risk of cancer.
