• The Center for Effective Discipline (CED)
provides educational information to the
public on the effects of corporal
punishment on children and alternatives to
its use. 31 states are banned from corporal
punishment in schools.
• On April 30th: all parents, guardians, and
caregivers are encouraged to refrain from
hitting children on this day, and to seek
alternative methods of discipline through
programs available in community agencies,
churches and schools.
