What is public speech?
• Speech: Any time you stand up in
front of a group of people-no matter
how small- and talk, you are giving a
speech
• Public Speaking: The art of delivering
a speech to a group of people

• The needs of your audience
• Your materials thoroughly

You are an actor on stage
• Dress appropriately
• Be solemn if your topic is serious
• Present the desired image to your
audience
• Look pleasant, enthusiastic,
confident, calm
• Remain Appear relaxed, even if you
feel nervous
