Health Care at the Crossroads
ETHICS AND DIVERSITY
A Symposium for Providers of Health Care
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2009
8:00am - 4:30pm………….
O'Keeffe Auditorium, Massachusetts General Hospital
In a rapidly evolving health care environment, providers are challenged
daily by complex ethical issues often relating to diversity, cultural
competence, and inclusion. In their desire to provide excellent patientcentered care, providers often must resolve ethical dilemmas in which
stakeholders present compelling but conflicting points of view and goals.
The purpose of this symposium is to increase knowledge and
understanding about the interaction between ethics and diversity in health
care in order to promote the best possible patient outcomes and to prevent
or reduce moral distress among providers.
Target Audience: Clinicians interested in the ethical aspects of health care.
Contact hours will be awarded to Registered Nurse participants.
