Cumin comes from Egypt and it is cultivated in
several countries of the Mediterranean basin,
in India and Iran.
It is an herbaceous, annual plant with a
straight, glabrous and branchy stem, with a
variable height of 20-40 cm.
The leaves are alternated and glabrous as well.

Its flowers are small, white or pinky, arranged
in compounded umbels.
