It is a disease that is caused when a
person eats plentiful calories than what is
being used.
In United States, more than one-third of
the adult population is obese which is
roughly to 34.9% or 78.6 million people.

Eating food stuffs with high cholesterol
Being physically inactive.
Health consequences of

Cardiovascular diseases like heart disease
and stroke
Type 2 diabetes
musculoskeletal diseases like
osteoarthritis
Cancers like endometrial, breast, ovarian
for the women having obese; prostate,
liver, gallbladder, kidney, and colon.
Leads to psychological difficulties like
having depression and low self-confidence
Ways to reduce obesity
Eating foods that have all the nutrients
and vitamins, calorie-controlled diet
Getting involved in physical activities like
fast walking, swimming, jogging
Limiting energy consumption from fats
and sugars
Increasing the intake of fruit and
vegetables and also legumes, nuts and
whole grains.
Ways the society can help
minimize obesity
Giving obese people support in following the
endorsements that they have been advised to follow.
Execution of evidence based and population based
strategies that will ensure there is regular physical
activity and healthier dietary selections accessible,
cheap and easily available to every person.
A policy such as a taxation on sugar sweetened
beverages could help because the price of those
drinks will be high and it will be expensive to the
ordinary people hence they will not afford to buy them
frequently.
Food industry ha also a role to play in promoting
healthy diets for people hence minimizing obesity in
the society

people individually to ply a great role in
making sure that obesity among people is
minimized.
