The Role
Our Education Officer interacts with the public and educates them on native
Australian flora and fauna as well as assisting in basic animal husbandry.
They deliver accurate, informative, entertaining and educational public
shows and tours in order to enhance the guest experience and knowledge.
Key Objectives for this position
• To continually increase knowledge of Sydney Wildlife World animals and
be well informed on issues relating to ecology/biology and conservation.
• To learn and develop animal handling skills, assist in basic husbandry and
learn to recognise animal behaviours to ensure animals are healthy and
safe.
• To promote products and experiences to guests and provide retail and
ticketing sales.
The person
The successful candidate must demonstrate a passion for promoting
awareness of native Australian flora and fauna. They must possess or be
currently undertaking tertiary qualifications in animal husbandry/zoology or
have experience or qualifications in education.
