PRESIDENCY EVENTS
More than 3,000 events in the CR, in Brussels and
elsewhere in the world: meetings of the European Council and
EU Ministers, working meetings, representing the EU Council
in international organisations, in the EP, cultural activities,
incl.:
550 meetings and conferences in the Czech Republic
500 cultural events in the world and in the CR
Importance of events taking place in the regions:
bringing the EU to the people
drawing attention to the Czech Republic and promoting its
products and services

31 summits and ministerial meetings

with the Conference of Presidents of the EP and with the
European Commission
14 informal meetings of EU Ministers (Prague + regions)

70 working group meetings, conferences and workshops in
the Prague Congress Centre

From January to June 2009: 30,000
delegates, mostly from abroad visited the
Czech Republic
3,730 journalists, including 2,049 from
abroad at events in the Czech Republic
www.eu2009.cz – more than 2 million visitors
– the largest audience in recent years!
