to make sure SOMEBODY will answer
the mail …..
Use PROPER mail bodies, NOT just
attachments (SPAM); use plain text
wherever possible (reply).
TARGET:
guaranteed response within 24 hours.

Using MAIL:
• SIGN your mail
• Use a descriptive TOPIC
• Copy what you RESPOND to, best to INSERT
text in the original message, not just attach it;
• Be EXPLICIT – don’t assume anybody else
can remember (and try to use English);
• Be RESPONSIVE: at least acknowledge mail
and indicate WHEN an answer can be
expected.

(NOT pictures …)
Data: DB dumps, Access or Excel (CLEAN,
typed spreadsheets, please), *.csv – always
with meta data.

• Use descriptive file names; NOT
generica like data.doc …..
• Make sure every document
CLEARLY states purpose, author
and modification date;
• Make sure every documents or data
set comes with META DATA to be
understandable without context
(and after a year).
