Moderation!!
Why is this all
healthier
• Only use Olive oil – Monounsaturated fat rich in Omega 6 and
containing vitamin E
• Adding Fromage Frais (1%)
reduces the fat content of the
cheesecake
• careful with the sugar
• Fresh vegetables (hidden and
visible) add to 5 a day and contain
little sugar
Why is this all
healthier
•Seeds high in calcium and protein
• Bread dough is a carbohydrate
which should be over a quarter of
your diet
•Fresh Fruit adds to your 5 a day
• Natural Ingredients (No E
numbers)
Be Careful with Fats
&
Sugar
• Mono-unsaturated – olive oil, nuts, avocado,
some nuts – good for the heart as part of a
balanced diet.
•Saturated – fatty meats, full fat milk, cheese,
butter and coconut oil. Try leaner meat and semi
skimmed milk and not too much cheese.
•Poly-unsaturated – fish oils, corn oils.
•Trans Fatty Acids – some natural but mainly in
manufacturing (cakes, biscuits, pasty etc). Can be
bad for the heart.
•Sugar is sugar (white sugar, brown sugar, syrup,
honey, within fruits, within foods, chocolate,
sweets) – Too much can cause tooth decay &
weight gain.
Local Produce
• Flour – Walk Mill – The wheat is grown in the
fields around the mill that grinds the flour.
• Vegetables – Supplied by Vineyard Farm in
Bebington
