Dear Student,
Welcome to the AP Psychology course! This course will
challenge you in new ways as a reader, a writer, and a thinker. This
summer you will need to prepare yourself for these challenges. The
purpose of the Advanced Placement Psychology is to introduce you to
the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental process
of human beings. You will be exposed to the psychological facts,
principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields
within psychology. You will learn about the ethics and methods
psychologists use in their science and practice. You will change the
way you view yourself and the behavior of others. To prepare yourself
for this, you will need to dedicate yourself to learning the concepts
within these charts as brief introductions to each of the major topics.
Best Wishes,
Mr. Schleer
