Studentism Activity
Presentations December 19 and 20
The students have Taken Over!
Imagine that you have over thrown the “incompetent and lazy” school
governing body (principals and teachers). The students are now in
charge.
You must create a “Socialist” version of your own – “Studentism.”
Important to remember – this is still a school. As far as the outside
world knows, it is business as usual inside the building.
You must still learn and take the State tests.
The Directions:
• You need to look up info about Socialism. Find four concepts that you
can use in your new government.
• Just as we compared Animalism to Communism – you will compare
Socialism to Studentism. (Four comparisons)
• After creating the basis for your government, create seven
commandments for your school. Remember – this is still a school.
• Now determine who is in charge of what. What jobs will each group
have? Football players, Academic Decathlon team, cheerleaders, FBLA
members…
What is Studentism?
Socialism (4 concepts) –
Research Socialism and
find four things
(characteristics) that
Socialism has that you
would like to apply to your
school.
Ex. All workers
contribute to the overall
welfare of the nation.
Studentism (4 concepts
from Socialism) – Take
those four concepts from
the left and change them
to make them applicable
to a school.
Studentism
