Hatshepsut was an 18th dynasty pharaoh who
was the daughter of Thutmose I.
When Thutmose I died, his son, Thutmose II
succeeded him and, as was the custom, he
married his stepsister, Hatshepsut.
When Thutmose II died, Hatshepsut became
Thutmose III’s regent and eventually appointed
herself pharaoh.
Cleopatra
Cleopatra was not of true Egyptian lineage.
She was descended from Macedonians.
She became pharaoh when she was 17
years old and ruled with her father, and
then with her younger brother, Ptolemy
XIII.
She was called “Queen of the Nile”.
Cleopatra commited suicide in 30 B.C.
