ELA Parent Page to Help Prepare for Week 16 (Extension)
Dear Family Member:
This week our class will be focusing on our role in the community. We will be talking about how we can help our communities and the idea of public
service and the common good.
Here are some activities you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be practicing.
Word Workout
Words to Know: definitions and restatements Your child will choose a word, define it, and use it in a sentence. You will use the same word plus one
other word in a different sentence. Then your child will use your word and one other in another new sentence. Continue until all the words have been
used at least once.
Spelling/Phonics: words with silent letters You and your child will group words according to their silent letters. Then you will use each of the words in
a sentence that also includes a word that begins with that silent letter
