Nervous System
By: Kreg Leytham
Neuron
• Three types
– Sensory
– Interneuron's
– Motor Neurons
Nerves
• Myelinated- Faster way to receive a signal
• Nonmyelinated- Slowest was to get the
signal
• Up to 50 times faster
Reflex
• Basic unit of movement.
• Brain and Spinal cord receives signals to
move
• Sensory signals are spread out through
the body to get the signals to the spinal
cord up to the brain.
Brain/Spinal Cord
• Signals travel up the spinal cord to the
brain for the action
• Example If you touch a hot stove the
sensory signals will tell you to take your
hand off of it. This happens due to the
signals going up the spinal cord to the
brain.
