STRUCTURE OF A
CELL
The structure of a cell as revealed
by electron microscope is known as
ultra structure. Every cell consists of
three main parts namely the cell
membrane, cytoplasm and nucleus.
SHAPE AND SIZE
Cell vary in shape and size. They may be
spherical in some bacteria, oval in yeast
elongated in nerve cells, spindle shaped in
euglena or irregular as in amoeba.
Size of a cell varies from a few microns
to several millimeters.

PLANT CELL
Generally box like.
ANIMAL CELL
Generally spherical

AFTER LEARNING THE
SLIDES YOU WILL……
Recognise cell as the
structural and functional unit
of life.
Draw the diagram of animal cell and plant
cell and label there parts.
