Calls us to take responsibility for
our use and care for the earth
We can make a positive difference

Laudato Si, Care for Our Common Home
Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is
essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a
secondary aspect of our Christian experience. (217)

Our earth speaks to us, and we must
listen if we want to survive.
Pope Benedict XVI, July 24, 2007
If you want to cultivate peace, protect
creation. The quest for peace by people
of good will surely would become easier

creation. If You Want to Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation, Pope Benedict XVI

Pope Benedict has made the Vatican carbon
neutral.
Pope Benedict instructed the organizers of the
Vatican Youth gathering in Rome to use products
made through the recycling process.
Creation therefore remains a kind of first revelation which
speaks to us clearly of the Creator and which can lead us
ever more deeply into the mystery of God’s love for us.
Pope John Paul II January, 2002
No peaceful society can afford to neglect either respect for
life or the fact that there is an integrity to creation. Pope John
Paul II January, 2002
