The French Coalition
Who are we?
• An alliance made up of 100 organisations: trade unions, social movements,
environmental and development NGOs, youth groups, faith-based organisations,
local groups (energy transition, anti-fracking, water), Alternatiba groups, small and
big logos
Born early 2014, following a shift in UNFCCC strategies and the Warsaw walk-out /
without a citizen mobilization nothing would change
• Hub for mobilization planning in France to continue an ecological and citizen
transition from the social movements
• Connecting with international networks and local groups on a regular basis :
conference call every month ; international meeting on Monday and Tuesday in
Tunis, now the next step is the 13th-14th June meeting and the 8th-9th October in
Paris, the last one before the COP. On the international mailing-list, many
information is shared with key points in many languages ; interactive and collective
initiatives map on the coalition website www.coalitionclimat21.org (in French,
English and Spanish)

Geneva during the meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group on Human Right
and Alternatiba will come to Geneva, important to converge during this event

Build a global village of alternatives during COP21 in Paris
Key demands

Call all citizens and social movements to start and strenghten the ecological ad social
transition without relying on hypothetical political agreement at COP21

Governments should remove all the legal and administrative barriers, obstacles that prevent
the development of citizens alternatives and a global transition should facilitate citizens- based
alternatives

Governments should stop subsidies to fossil fuels. Public subsidies should go for sobriety
policies, and development of sustainable energy.

militarism / low consumption, EnR, end austerity measures, change our banking &
