Creating a healthy future
for humans, animals and
their environments.
Our mission
The One Health Platform is a strategic forum of
stakeholders and a One Health reference network that
aims to enhance understanding of and preparedness for
the current and future outbreaks of zoonoses, emerging
infectious diseases in humans and animals, and
antimicrobial resistance, including the ecological and
environmental factors which impact on these diseases.

The public one health agenda
The public one health agenda
To prepare for future outbreaks of EID,
we need to enhance our
understanding of the drivers for
emerging infections, especially at the
human/animal interface. The One
Health Platform Research Agenda lists
10 priority research areas.
• Strengthening surveillance and
laboratory capacity
• Ensuring uninterrupted access to
essential medicines of assured
quality
• Regulation and promotion of
rational use of medicines
• Enhancing infection prevention
and control
• Fostering research and
development for new medicines
and tools

policy package to combat
antimicrobial resistance
The Science Policy Interface
bridges the gap between
evidence and health policy.
Experts ‘translate’ the policy
implications of their research
and use high-quality data to
guide discussions, and ultimately - to improve the
health of humans, animals and
the environment through
evidence-based policy.
