What is expected of my child?
• To be independent in school
routines and in their learning
• To develop their reading,
writing and maths skills as well
as all other curriculum areas
• To enjoy school

Science – given on Friday, in following Friday.

• Snacks
– unfortunately snacks are not provided at
school in KS2 and the snacks are eaten on
the playground at playtimes.
• Lunch - Please can we encourage healthy
sandwich fillers, no fizzy drinks and only
one chocolate bar.
• Water bottles – clearly labelled

What do the children need to bring to school?
• correct uniform!
• pencils, rubber, ruler,
sharpener, glue stick, etc
• PE Kit: yellow t-shirt, blue
shorts, trainers/plimsoles (long
hair tied back, no ear-rings)
• reading book & any homework
Assessment
• Assessment – ongoing and done daily/weekly/monthly
• Informs our planning.
FORMAL TYPES OF ASSESSMENT:
• Reading tests – determines reading age. Beginning and
end of year.
• Optional SATS-these are carried out in our Assessment
week in February and May. The results help our teacher
assessment and show continuity and progression
through Key stage 1 and 2.
• Results – are discussed at Parent Evenings and put on
reports at the end of the year to inform parents of
teacher assessments.
