Three
determinants of
healthy food
1- food composition
2- food’s vital energy
3- cosmic forces, food types
and effects on mind
Relation Between
Body and Mind
Our body is composed of
countless cells
• The cells are the
basic units which
give form to the
physical body.
Each cell performs different functions
in the system
skin cells
Parts of the cell
Each cell has:
• physical structure
• individual mind
(low level of
development)
• sense of self or “I”
feeling, as they
are alive
Kinds of cells
Cells are basically of two kinds:
Protozoic cells
 Uni-cellular
 Less developed mind
Metazoic cells
 Pluri-cellular
 More developed mind
The entire human structure
can be regarded as one
metazoic organism.
The human mind
• Is the collection of
minds of both the
protozoic and
metazoic cells plus
the central unit “I”
feeling, or existence
feeling, of the human
entity.
• It is a collective mind,
having a relationship
with all parts.
• The aura or glow of
effulgence radiated
from the human
body is the
collective
effulgence of all its
composite cells.
Changes in mental feelings
The aura changes accordingly with
can cause variations in the
health of the human being.
Mental feelings
1st Factor of Healthy Food
Food
Composition
Our food transforms into
plasma
blood cells
flesh cells
shukra (Sanskrit) - a vital fluid which has three
stages: lymph, spermatozoa / ova and seminal fluid
fat
bone cells
lymph
shukra - nourishes brain
cells, nerves and glands
- purifies blood, maintains
beauty and glory of body,
enables proper secretion of
hormones from glands
bone marrow
We are
what we
eat!
CANCER CELLS
DEFECTIVE CELLS
NOT GOOD QUALITY SUSTANCES
CARCINOMA

PREMATURE
DEATH
MALFUNTION OF ORGANS
2nd Factor of Healthy Food
Food and Vital
Energy
Food provides the body
with its requirements of
vital energy
sprout seed
vital energy
Vital energy is
transformed
into
Mechanic energy
Kinetic energy
Mental energy
Some foods are rich in vital energy
Some foods are poor in vital energy
About mushrooms
• Mushroom lives on
decayed matter
•
Does not produce
chlorophyll
•
Low vital energy

3rd Factor of Healthy Food
Cosmic Forces, Food
Types and Effect on Mind
Sentient force
Mutative force
Static force
Sentient force
This force brings the felling of oneness
with the universe
 self-awareness
 love
 peace
 joy
Mutative force
The force of change and activity
 restless
 nervous
 agitated
Static force
The force of decay, inertia and death
sleepy
dullness
listless
lacking energy and initiative
Sentient foods
nearly all fruits
most vegetables
beans and nuts
grains
milk and milk products
moderate amounts
of most herbs and
spices
Mutative foods
beverages with caffeine, such as
coffee and tea
carbonated drinks
chocolate
Static foods
meats
eggs
alcoholic drinks
cigarettes
onion and garlic
& other intoxixants
fish
mushroom
Onion and garlic
 increase the acidity of
the stomach
- ulcers
 Create much heat in the body
-unbalance hormons
secretions
-agitate the mind
Molecular expression

Food and well-being
Example: blood pressure diseases
• All acidic foods should be rejected.
• Alkaline types of food are to be taken in
increased quantity.
• As far as possible, foods such as rice, pulses
and hard wheat varieties (durum) should be
eaten in less quantity.
• Fruits, roots, and leafy vegetable soup
should be taken instead.
• Fried, parched and sweetened foods are also
harmful (a little raw sugar or honey can be
taken).
Vitality
Eating healthy foods:
• increases vitality;
• decreases anxiety;
• helps make the nervous system strong to
deal with stress;
• gives a feeling of cleanliness – internal and
external;
• are good for conserving resources and good
for the environment.
“It is my view that the vegetarian
manner of living, by its purely physical
effect on human temperament, would
most beneficially influence the lot of
mankind.“
Albert Einstein
