La forma tú
To create an affirmative tú command form for a
regular verb, use the Ud./El/Ella form of the verb
• hablar – habla - ¡habla! – talk!
• leer – lee - ¡lee! – read!
• escribir – escribe - ¡escribe! – write!
•
Poner and hacer both have irregular
affirmative tú command forms:
• poner – pone - ¡Pon la mesa!
• hacer – hace - ¡Haz la tarea!
Ejemplos:
 ¡Escucha a la profesora! – Listen to the teacher!
 ¡Comparte tus juguetes! – Share your toys!
 ¡Bebe mucha agua! – Drink a lot of water!
 ¡Pon tu ropa en el armario! – Put your clothes in the
closet!
 ¡Haz la cama! – Make the bed!
More command forms
 In the “tú” commands, there are irregulars in the
positive commands:
 hacer - haz -do/make
 decir – di -say/tell
 venir – ven -come
 salir – sal –go out/leave
tener – ten – have/be
poner – pon –put/set
ir – ve -go
ser – sé -be
Los mandatos with object and
reflexive pronouns.
 When making an affirmative command, you attach
object or reflexive pronouns to the end of the word
and then add an accent mark to the 3rd syllable back.

 ¡Cómpralo! – Buy it!
 Dime la verdad– tell me the truth.
 Dámelos – Give them to me
“tú” Negative commands:

Remove the “o” of the “yo” form
Add “as” for er and ir verbs
or
Add “es” for ar verbs

Los mandatos negativos with
object and reflexive pronouns
 In negative commands, the object and reflexive
pronouns go before the conjugated form.

 ¡No te duermas! – Don’t fall asleep! (dormir – duermo)

 ¡No me hables! - Don’t talk to me! (hablar – hablo)
